This is the terrifying moment an angry wild elephant rammed a safari vehicle full of tourists so hard that it chipped its tusk.

The astonishing scene was captured in January 2018 in Chobe National Park, Botswana.

A video of the incident shows a herd of elephants crossing a dirt road.

Suddenly, one elephant gets angry and charges the safari jeep.

The driver speeds away but the elephant gives chase and catches the tourists, ramming the back of the jeep several times.

Only when a piece of the creature's tusk breaks and flies off to the side of the vehicle, does the elephant abandon the chase.
