Google Home fails to resolve couple's UK/US spelling argument

A British-American couple living in the UK turned to Google Home recently to try to resolve their argument about spelling.

"Hey Google, how do you spell 'color?'" the American asked the smart speaker and home assistant.

In a clear American accent, Google Home responded: "'Color' is spelled C.O.L.O.R.

Brit Ethan then asked exactly the same question in his accent.

Google Home immediately switched to a British accent to respond: "'Colour' is spelled C.O.L.O.U.R."

"My girlfriend and I decided to test the age old question in our relationship," Ethan wrote online.

Sadly for the couple Google Home proved far too diplomatic to win the argument one way or another.
