Killer whale toys with live sea turtle off Galapagos Islands
A visitor to the Galapagos Islands earlier this month captured this remarkable moment on camera - a killer whale appearing to toy with a live sea turtle.
The GoPro footage, filmed on January 9 off the coast of Genovesa Island, Galapagos, shows the orca swimming with the reptile in its jaws.
The whale appears to be taking the turtle into deeper waters, where the reptile would eventually drown.
Killer whales have an extremely diverse diet and have been observed preying on more than 140 species, including turtles.
