Airbus A380 almost loses control after crosswind landing
This is the terrifying moment an Airbus A380 almost lost control after touching down in crosswinds at Düsseldorf airport in Germany
In the video it appears that the Emirates operated aircraft is going to land without difficulty, but as soon as the wheels touch the tarmac, the plane veers violently all over the runway.
The skilled pilots manage to quickly bring the aircraft back under control after what must have been a few anxious moments for them and their passengers.
"I have filmed a few thousand crosswind landings at several airports in Europe within the past years, but this Airbus A380 crosswind landing was extremely hard and extraordinary," the filmer wrote online.
"I have never seen such a tremendous reaction of an airplane after a touchdown," he added.
"This video shows the incredible skills of the pilots. Even after an unexpected wind gust after touchdown they managed to re-align with the runway. Incredible job by the pilots!" he concluded.
The clip was captured in October but has only recently emerged online.
