I am a powered paragliding instructor. On 01/12/20018 I took off on a routine flight from Los Cerritos Beach located 45 minutes northwest of Cabo San Lucas, BCS Mexico. I noticed a pod of whales just off shore so I flew over to take a look. I noticed that one of the whales was very pail in color. As I got closer, I could see that the whale was tangled in lobster trap rigging. I circled them for about 10 minutes until I saw a passing fishing boat which I flagged down. I flew over the boat and yelled down that a whale was tangled in a net. I continued to circle the whale for over 45 minutes. When the whale would submerge the fisherman would sometimes loose site of him so I continued to locate the whale while the fishermen cut the whale free from over 300 feet of rope, several flotation devices and a lobster trap. In the end, the whale was freed and swam away.
