A whale shark encounter of the close kind
I was diving at Chumphon Pinnacle in Koh Tao, Thailand which is known to be one of the best dive sites in the Gulf of Thailand. This site is also a great place to encounter Whale Sharks, and this day did not disappoint. When we entered the water we were told that a Whale Shark may be in the area. I heard the familiar tap tap tap which is other divers signalling that they have spotted the Whale Shark and then there it was heading right towards me. So I stayed exactly where I was and it came coasting right towards me and turned away just at the last minute. A very close encounter and beautiful encounter for me.
