The nation of Mongolia is not known for producing world-class cricketers, but there can be no doubting their commitment.

In a match that took place last summer in Ulaanbaatar, a Mongolian XI take on Hong Kong’s Lamma Cricket Club.

In the video, the ball is struck handsomely for a certain boundary by Lamma batsman named Richie. But the Mongolian fielder in the deep chases after it nonetheless.

Such is his commitment he either doesn’t see or simply ignores the embankment in his way and completely falls over.

"Is he OK?" asks a spectator watching.

The ball went for four runs, but happily the fielder was uninjured.

The story of the video - Why it was filmed, What happened, etc:
Lamma Cricket Club from Hong Kong toured to Mongolia. Played two games. Saturday against the Mongolian Youth team. Sunday against an open Mongolian team (where this incident happened).

The Mongolian guys are very enthusiastic about cricket and this just shows their commitment. The ball was hit for four runs (along the ground to the boundary) by Richie, and in an attempt to stop the ball crossing the boundary, the fielder fell across the embankment. There was no grass where he fell, only rocks. This also demonstrates the toughness of the Mongolians. He just got up and collected the ball.
