A skywatcher from Germany has filmed an extreme closeup of the supermoon.

In the video, filmed very early in the morning on February 1 near Cologne, the skies "became almost perfectly clear," writes filmer Chris Will, 26.

He continues: "I went on my balcony, put the camera on my tripod and began filming. It was quite tricky because if you zoom to the moon you realize, that the moon moves quite fast and because I switched image stabilizer off, every small movement is noticeable in the video. I zoomed manually and that's why the video is sometimes pretty shaky. I ended filming at around 1:00am."

I wanted to create quality content from the supermoon. On January 31 it was really cloudy, but my weather app promised a crystal clear sky at around 00:00am.

At 00:15am on February 1st the sky became almost perfectly clear. I went on my balcony, put the camera on my tripod and began filming. It was quite tricky, because if you zoom to the moon you realize, that the moon moves quite fast and because I switched image stabilizer off, every small movement is noticeable in the video. I zoomed manually and that's why the video is sometimes pretty shaky. I ended filming at around 01:00am.

Nevertheless, I was really impressed from the quality of my clips and I started editing the next morning.
