A mini-bus plunged into a river in Kolhapur, Maharashtra, India, killing thirteen persons, including seven women and children.

A CCTV camera installed by the traffic police caught the chilling moment the bus fell into the Panchaganga river on the night of January 26.

It shows the vehicle making a sudden turn on a bridge to breach the safety barrier and then falling into the river.

The bus was carrying 16 passengers belonging to three families from the nearby Pune.

The passengers had gone on a pilgrimage and were on a temple tour of Maharashtra when the tragedy occurred.

The police said the driver lost control and they are probing if he was drunk during the incident.

Bharat Kedari, 60, survived the accident but lost his son, daughter, son-in-law, daughter-in-law and two grandsons. “My entire family has been wiped out,” said an inconsolable Kedari.
