A mother in Los Alamitos, California, laughed nonstop for more than two minutes after her daughter told her the meaning of the word “queef.”

Andrea Cruz said her mother asked her if gas could be passed through the vagina. When Cruz replied yes and that it was called a “queef,” she said her mother burst out “laughing and repeated the word over and over again, making up different scenarios of when she would use the word ‘queef.’” (A queef is actually air passing out of the vagina, not gas.) 


Cruz published the video on her Twitter account the following day, and the clip went viral, reaching 1 million views in less than 24 hours.

My mom came into my room & was talking to me until she brought up farts & asked if there was such a thing of farting through your vagina so I simply replied yes & she was shook & asked what they were called & once I said queef she burst down laughing & repeated the word over & over again & making up different scenarios of when she’d use the word ‘queef’. I know that a queef technically isn’t a fart but it sort of is. I decided to record her because she was laughing so hard & i thought it’d be a funny video to look back at & I’m always recording her when she says or does something funny. I thought about posting the video that night but chose not to because it was late. The next day I showed the video to my sister & my dad & they couldn’t stop laughing so I thought my twitter followers could use a good laugh, so I posted it. The next morning my phone was blowing up with notifications & when id try to use twitter it would freeze or take me off the app. Shortly after I had reached 80 thousand views in less than 24 hours leading to 1 million. I couldn’t believe what was happening & my mom was also in disbelief. People I didn’t know started to call me their friend because I would add them back on Snapchat which I thought was funny because i had never spoken to them in my life. Later that day I tweeted to give thanks to all of the people who sent me sweet messages & to let them know I appreciate it a lot. I’m just glad my mom & I were able to bring joy to those who watched the video.
