Close encounter with a blue whale - St Laurent Quebec (Canada) - Summer 2017
A whale watching trip off Quebec had a close encounter with a blue whale that swam up to and then dove under their boat.
A quote from the user said: "Months after, I am still shaking whenever I watch it"
The footage was taken at Tadoussec, west of Quebec itself, on August 24th 2017. The area is known to see up to 13 different species of whales at peak migration times during the summer and is renowned for excellent whale-watching tourism.
Blue whales are rare numbering only around 25,000 in 2017 according to the International Union for Conservation of Nature, and travel mostly alone in small groups.
