Riding home was an uphill struggle for these motorcyclists - as they tried to rev their way out of trouble after getting stuck in thick mud.

The residents in a remote mountain village in Quezon, Philippines, were faced with the tricky-off road conditions after rain turned the dust track road to a quagmire.

Footage shows their plucky attempts to thrash their engines through the sludge - with some inching along while one rider was stuck in the 1ft deep sludge.

Onlooker Kadeem Enriquez, a teacher at the local school, said: ''There are no proper roads in the village. I have to use them every day and it's a nightmare. The rainy season hasn't even started yet so they're sure to get worse.''
