This is the moment a male lion was attacked by females after he tried to join the pride.

The footage, captured on January 28 in Botswana, shows the lionesses biting and scratching the lion.

Eventually, the male attempts to escape and can be seen running away from the pride.

The filmer later wrote online: ''A young nomad male Lion then tried to join the group and was driven off by the dominant lioness of the group with the rest of the pride joining her to chase the young lion away.

"I came across these lions while on a safari game drive in Southern Africa.We found a pride of 15 lions (all females, not sure were the males was). This was not filmed in South Africa's Kruger National Park but in Chobe National Park in Botswana. Still a fantastic sighting to share !
