The Snow Roads: A93 Spittal of Glenshee to Glenshee Ski Centre through the Cairngorms, Scotland
The Snow Roads is a 90-mile route through the Scottish highlands, from the market town of Blairgowrie in Perthshire to the Highland town of Grantown-on-Spey in Aberdeenshire. This film shows the route along the A93 from the Spittal of Glenshee into the Grampian mountains to Glenshee Ski Centre by the Cairnwell pass, where it becomes the highest public road in the UK. This route experiences heavy snowfall in winter and snow gates are used to shut the road. This was filmed after the gates were reopened following their closure during storm Caroline in early December 2017.
