This is the moment a herd of deer was spotted obeying a stop sign whilst trotting through a residential neighbourhood in the heart of the Canadian Rockies.

The footage, captured on February 17 in Fernie, British Columbia, shows five deer pausing at an intersection, where a stop sign is located, looking both ways, before safely crossing the road.

The filmer writes: ''Spotted a herd of deer on my way out of my parking lot so I stopped to take a couple pictures.

''Had to carry on to work, turned around a little further down the road at the perfect moment to witness this.''
