Huge row breaks out over alleged American Airlines "overbooking"

A large row broke out at Miami International Airport earlier this week when eight passengers who were refused entry to an American Airlines flight accused the company of "overbooking".

American Airlines claimed the stranded passengers had failed queue up in time to catch the flight, according to the filmer.

Some of the passengers told a very different story, saying they had been at the airport for hours and had heard no announcement that the gate was closing.

"After the entire American Airlines crew came back from the plane they blamed eight passengers for not standing in line on time, passengers had their luggage on the plane and although it was a clear over sell/booking from AA, they didn’t take any responsibility for the incident," the filmer wrote online.

"AA offered us to sleep on the floor until the next flight the next day," he added.

Although Newsflare has no way of proving that this was a case of overbooking, selling more seats than are available onboard aircraft is a common practice among airlines to boost profits.
