This is the moment a giant dugong attacks a green sea turtle while feeding on seagrass.

The footage, captured in Marsa Mubarak bay in Egypt, shows the dugong hammering its tusks onto the turtle's shell.

The clip was filmed on August 19, 2013.

The filmer writes: ''I came across this gentile giant dugong during a snorkeling trip in the bay Marsa Mubarak.

''After a while, this young male, named Dyson, left the sandy bottom and raced towards a large green sea turtle and started to attack the animal.''

''This behavior is typical territorial; both species feed on seagrass in this area, but I've never seen this behavior before and especially not that rough.''

''The dugong started to make loud, high pitched noises when it spotted a turtle feeding on seagrass.''
