Carnival glory sea rescue

Buy video

Sept 30th 2016 on board the carnival glory between Miami and cuba, the cruise ship turned to rescue a "small watercraft in distress" what appeared to be a small life raft turned out to be a homemade raft for 5 male refugees trying to make it to the United states. Storms were gathering and closing in on the area. The ship met with the raft and threw life vests out to the occupants, who were throwing unknown items into the water. As we got close it was obvious they were doing what they could to keep the raft afloat. The 5 men were rescued, checked out by medical and given hot meals. A few hours later the men were handed over to the coast guard and likely returned to cuba. (See other video)
