King Penguins (Aptenodytes patagonicus) is the second largest species of penguin, standing 70-100 cm (28-39 inches) tall and weighing from9-18 kg (21-40 lb). They are superb swimmers and divers, eating mainly laternfish and squid. They breed on the subantarctic islands, such as South Georgia, and several beaches have colonies of hundreds of thousands of birds. These birds were at St Andrews Bay, South Georgia.
