Aerial footage shows landslides from Papua New Guinea quake

Aerial footage taken from a helicopter has revealed the extent of damage caused by a powerful earthquake that struck Papua New Guinea on February 26.

Whole villages were flattened by the 7.5-magnitude quake that killed at least 20 people.

Survivors have since experienced large aftershocks.

Aerial footage filmed from a helicopter shows landslides in some of the hardest-hit areas in Papua New Guinea's mountainous Southern Highlands.

The video was filmed by New Zealander Bernard James McQueen in the vicinity of the Hegigio Gorge on March 1.
