Crocodile trying to steal a huge fish from a Saddle-billed Stork
The beautiful female Saddle-billed Stork (Ephippiorhynchus senegalensis) is listed as endangered in South Africa. This female Stork was attempting to swallow a fish that was far too big for it, while at the same time trying to evade a small Nile Crocodile that was trying to steal the fish from it! The Stork's problems got even worse when a juvenile Stork flew in, wanting some of the fish too. This drama was shot on the Olifants River crossing in Kruger Park by my wife, Sally Robinson.
