Veteran amputees of Colombia's FARC conflict dream of a career in football

Amputee veterans of Colombia's long-running war with FARC rebel group are facing their next battle - on the football pitch.

The amputees - most of whom served in Colombia's national army - can often be seen playing football in public parks in the hope of one day joining the national league for disabled players.

Footage captured on March 10 in Bogota shows two teams of players warming up before a match.

The amputees can be seen dribbling the ball with their only leg as they move on crutches across the field.

Most of the players are former soldiers that lost limbs during the military conflict between the Colombian Government and the Revolutionary Armed Forces of Colombia (FARC).

The filmer said that the players demonstrate that "limitations are only in the mind and not in the body.''
