The aftermath of the torrential rainfall that took place and flooded Barron Falls in Far North Queensland is laid bare in this footage filmed on March 10.

The video shows the waterfall of Barron Falls, overcome by large gushes of water due to burst river banks.

In the video, water crashes into the rocks far below.

Local Australian news have reported that the region has been hammered by rough weather over the past four days, with more than 600mm of rain.

The torrential rain has started to ease slightly, however forecasters have warned a cyclone could be looming right around the corner.

The massive rainfall in Far North Queensland in the last week has sent torrents of water rushing down the rivers and gorges, and Barron Falls has become an awe-inspiring, ferocious waterfall that many have likened to Niagara Falls! The flooding will recede over the next few days, but for now it’s a sight to behold, and locals and tourists are flocking to visit the flooded Falls while they can. Barron Falls is located at Kuranda, near Cairns in Far North Queensland.
