Rude British backpacker sparks anger on bus
A British backpacker was branded rude after he sparked anger on a bus - by putting his ''smelly'' feet on a DRINKS HOLDER.
The man was travelling on a coach in Bangkok, Thailand, when he slipped off his flip flops and plonked them on the coffee cup holder.
Wearing a wooly hat, vest and ''see through'' fisherman pants, he then moved his feet onto the barrier above the drinks holder that passengers touch when going to the toilet.
The backpacker, who had a British accent, was allegedly ''very rude'' when told to put down his uncovered feet - an insulting gesture in Thailand where pointing naked feet at people is highly offensive.
The passenger said: ''This guy was carrying a backpack with a yoga mat rolled up and a tin cup for camping. His cotton trousers were virtually see-though and he was wearing a vest showing off half his body. It was very inconsiderate to other passengers, who had presented themselves well in public and did not want a man's exposed flesh thrust upon them. I was shocked when he put his stinking feet onto the drinks holder that some unfortunate passenger will be using. He then put his foot onto the hand rest wall that people touch and spread his other foot across his girlfriend next to him and rested it against a window. I don't want to be rude, but it seemed like he hadn't showered for days. I had to sit next to him and his feet for two hours. When a Thai coach assistant asked him to move his feet, he just shrugged and ignored him. It was very rude. He had grey hair and should know better.''
