An SUV run over a child that was playing on a pedestrian crossing while his mother was looking at her phone.

The CCTV video, filmed in Baise City in southern China's Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region on March 14, shows a woman standing on the side of the road using her phone while her two children run across the pedestrian crossing.

The youngest child makes it all the way across the road alone while the other child stops at the central reservation. As the mother begins to cross, the youngest child runs back towards the central reservation in the direction of the other child and mother and gets hit by the SUV.

Fortunately, he only suffered minor scratches after being checked into hospital, local media reported.

Police contacted the mother over the incident.
