Paraglider crashes into beach after collision with kitesurfer
A powered paraglider smashed into a beach in Turkey after becoming entangled with a kite.
Video shows two motorised paragliders flying above Tirmata beach near Istanbul during the Formula Kite championships.
One of the paragliders then gets far too close to a kitesurfer’s low-flying kite, causing him to become entangled.
A loud snapping sound is heard before the paraglider plummets out of the air.
People can be seen running towards the crash site as they realise what has happened.
No further information was available on the condition of the paraglider.
The video was captured on August 12, 2017.
Powered paragliders can reach speeds of 50 mph (72 kph).
