Animal rescuers were stunned when they arrived at a flat to find rabbits and hundreds pet MICE running free.

Workers were called in after neighbours complained about the smell and noise from the rodents at the apartment in Singapore.

They said that an elderly woman and her son living at the home had started with just THREE mice that began breeding.

Within a couple of years the entire property was overrun with the creatures along with 23 rabbits also living there.

Rescuers from Voices For Animals and Bunny Wonderland arrived and said mice were ‘’falling on their heads’’ from the cupboards as they tried to catch them.

The organisation said: ‘’It's a case of an elderly mom and her son who started with three fancy mice and they multiplied to hundreds In years.

''It's the first time that I actually stepped in to a house that's filled with hundreds of mice. They were not in cages whatsoever, they were all over the house.

‘’Please be a responsible owner, do not breed them when you are unable to care for them.''
