The Chacma Baboon (Papio ursinus) is the largest primate in southern Africa. Baboons live in troops ranging in size from about 15 to 100. Troops are strictly hierarchical, with all adult males dominant to females. Baby Baboons weigh about 600 grams at birth and have black hair and a pink face.

Chacma Baboons are very tactile and often sit close to one another, grooming or simply being in touch. This female Baboon was nursing her newborn baby while a young male sat close by in the tree fork. He then approached her to groom him.
