Two tourists were arrested and fined after a passing driver filmed them romping in the back of a tuk tuk.

The Russian couple Pavel Nikitin, 33, and Dilbar Elnazarova, 20, sparked outrage after being recorded appearing to have sex in the vehicle on Friday night in Phuket, Thailand. Officers contacted the driver and tracked the pair down to their hotel where they were arrested.Dilbar admitted taking off her clothes but claimed they had just ‘’simulated’’ sex while moving in time to the music after being picked up next to red light district Soi Bangla next to Patong Beach.Officers charged the pair with offending public decency and fined them 500baht (11gbp) each - 22gbp in total.
Maj. Gen. Bundit Saudham said that police interviewed the couple for more than an hour at the station and said that their acts were ‘’illegal in Thailand’’.
He said: ‘’Both foreigners said they did not know before that this was wrong. They understood and agreed and accepted the punishment according to the law.

‘’They said that they had stripped and made a gesture similar to having sex but did not actually fully have sex. This is still indecent and in law deserves a fine.

‘’The foreigners were very serious and understood that what they had done was wrong.''
