Four men had a miraculous escape after a huge tree fell on their car.

The incident was caught on a CCTV camera on a road near Tumkur in South India on March 22.

The men were driving back to their home after visiting a dargah, a Muslim place of worship when the huge peepal tree fell on their car.

The rear of the car took the brunt of the blow, which crushed the vehicle partially.

As the car came to a sudden halt, the shocked men emerged out of the damaged vehicle but with only minor injuries.

Police officials rushed to the spot and took the family to a nearby hospital, which discharged them after first aid.

Local residents said the ageing tree had become weak in the roots and fell under its own weight.

The CCTV footage shows that another red colour car narrowly escaped coming under the tree.
