Dust-storm from Sahara makes orange-tinted snow over eastern Europe

Martian-like landscapes have welcomed skiers in Sochi, Russia over the last weekend, as a sandstorm from the Sahara desert coloured with an orange filter the slopes.

Meteorologists have clarified the phenomenon is likely caused by sand from Sahara mixing with snow.

Entire ski slopes are seen covered in orange in a surreal atmosphere at The Rosa Khutor Resort.
