Starling Murmuration at Sunset, Brighton Pier

Buy video

The small seaside town of Brighton on the south coast of the UK plays host to one of the most spectacular Starling murmurations in the country. Alternating between the decrepit West Pier and the titular Brighton Pier from where this video was shot, starlings perform their mesmerising dance at sundown prior to roosting in the iron super structure of the pier itself.
Filmed across the last week of February 2018 as the Beast From The East weather system began to slowly creep into the south east corner of the UK, I took advantage of the crisp, clear and bitterly cold evening to get up close and personal with this mesmerising phenomenon.
A truly wonderful sight.
