This is the hilarious moment a teenager struggles to stay on her feet - after going ice skating for the first time in four years.

Madoka Takayama, 16, stepped onto the ice at a rink in Yamaguchi, Japan, but immediately fell down.

She tried to get back up, but slipped again - leaving herself and friend Kyoka Tanaka, also 16, in fits of giggles.

Madoka finally lifted herself back up but lost control and fell against the side railing for support.

She said she wasn't hurt after the ice skating fail and soon became used to being back on the ice.

Madoka said: ''I couldn't stop laughing. It was difficult to get my balance but I got used to it.''

Friend Kyoka added: ''Madoka was brave to go straight onto the ice without doing it for so long. It wasn't as easy as she thought it would be.''
