Animals in zoos around the UK are soaking up the sun as a mini heatwave hits the country.

Video shows various animals at different UK zoos dancing and frolicking in the sunlight.

A bonobo can be seen effortlessly doing a 360 backflip and a gorilla plays with hay.

Even smaller creatures seem to enjoy the heat, with a Prairie dog digging around in the mud.

Temperatures in the UK are set to soar to 26 degrees Celsius with dry, sunny spells for much of the country.

The footage was filmed on April 14.

The lar gibbon having a little roll, the gorilla baby Shufai covering up with some wood shavings, the Borneo Orangutan baby Kayan enjoys eating in the sun in his mums Kibriah arms, the new born lemur baby and new born gibbon can catch some of their first sun rays, the snow leopards jumping about in the sun, the Prairie dog enjoys a muddy dig. All that, while the kangaroo has a lazy day by lying down and having a rest.
