POV footage of YouTuber hand-feeding giant tarpon
YouTuber Viva Frei feeds by hand the giant tarpon of a marina in Florida in this super fun, first-person feature video in which he nearly (sort of) loses an arm.
The friendly Canadian also enlists the help of some locals to film his experience in slow motion on an iPhone.
In the video, Viva Frei is filmed waiting for the circling tarpon fish to jump up for their dinner.
A couple of the fish jump out of the water - huge open mouths at the ready - and try to grab the bait. Viva Frei's arm almost disappears with it.
"Daddy, what bit you there?" asks one of his children, pointing at his bloodied arms when he gets back to his family after feeding the tarpon.
In the end, Viva Frei not only got bitten by the giant tarpon but also a pelican that was lingering nearby, he explains.
"It was an epic experience," he says.
The video was filmed at Robbie's Marina, which sustained extensive damage during 2017's Hurricane Irma.
