This is the moment a man who was tasered and detained on a flight in Miami was hauled through the terminal by airport police.

The man, Jacob A Garcia, was taken off American Airlines flight 2446 to Chicago after allegedly assaulting a fellow female passenger.

Footage shows Garcia being carried onto a golf cart in the Miami International Airpot terminal by police after passengers were taken off the flight.

As police restrain him and he is taken away, the crowd cheers. "You deserve it," a passenger is heard shouting.

Kaitlin Waters, who was heading back home on the flight, said: "I was towards the front and already on the jet bridge, but multiple police had to tase this guy multiple times before he was dragged off.

"Even in handcuffs he was still arguing with police and not cooperating."

The woman’s boyfriend complained to flight attendants and eventually escalated so that the captain of the plane and one of the managers from the terminal were all having words with this guy. Trying to get him to move seats at first. He was being very argumentative and rude. He talked back so much to the manager that he threatened to go get police and kick him off. The police then came and tried to talk to him. This guy was refusing still. The captain came over to loudspeaker and said that policy was that everyone had to deplane in order for police to forcibly remove someone, which made people mad. People started crowding around this guy and yelling at him and it started to get physical. So police had to rush onto the plane even though most passengers were still on.
