My husband just discovered this nest, right under our feet, on our 2nd story deck. When we lie on the deck, we can peek at the nest between the boards, so I positioned my camera there and just left it recording and walked away. The babies were sleeping when I started filming, but they sure woke up to eat. The parent (not sure if a mother or a father; my friend says the contrast in coloring means a father) feeds them worms and vegetation from our yard. Their open beaks are one of the coolest things I've ever seen, beautiful like flowers. The parent robin shows up for the first time at 52 seconds and they seem to see the camera, though that doesn't stop them from feeding the babies. A baby poops (the white stuff) and then the parent puts it in their mouth! Apparently, when they're very young, the parents eat the poop, and as they age, the parents will take it away with their beaks but drop it instead of eating it. The parent returns at 5:09 to do it again. I love seeing how the babies all cuddle together and love hearing their adorable peeps. We live in Irondale-Port Hadlock, Washington in the USA.
