A huge fire rips through a factory causing 2.5million GBP worth of damage - sending workers running for their lives.

Flames broke out at the insulation sheeting factory in Samut Prakan, Thailand, just after midnight on April 24.

Fire crews arrived and battled for two hours to control the blaze, as canisters of LPG gas inside the building exposed.

The fire also destroyed 20 cars which had been parked next to the two-storey building. There were no injuries to people.

Police Captain Pongsakorn Saraschana said total damage was estimated at more than 100 million baht (2.3 million GBP).

Security guard Somporn Sarapim, 63, said he heard a double explosion around 12.30am. He saw about seven workers running for their lives from flames shooting high in the air.

The fire was fanned by a wind and raced through the building then spread rapidly to the nearby areas of the compound.
