Australian Tiger Snake sunning itself after swimming, then moving off
The Western Australian Tiger Snake (Notechis scutatus occidentalis) is one of the most venomous snakes in the world. Australian Tiger Snakes usually live close to wetlands, and their main prey is frogs. They are excellent swimmers and may be found in water and on land. This snake had just emerged onto the bank after swimming in Herdsman Lake and was sunning itself to warm up before moving off.
