The African Savanna Elephant (Loxodonta africana) is the largest living land animal. Males (called bulls) weigh up to six tonnes and stand up to four metres tall at the shoulder; females (called cows) are smaller, weighing up to 3.5 tonnes and 3.4 metres at the shoulder.

Bull Elephants are often seen together, particularly around water and mud wallows. In this sequence of clips shot in the Shingwedzi River in Kruger National Park, two bulls were standing together in the flowing river, then the younger bull left.
