Hundreds took to the streets of London in solidarity with the Windrush generation following the revelations over the government's mistreatment of long-term residents from the Caribbean.

The footage, captured on April 30, shows people holding signs reading ''Blame austerity, not immigrants'' and ''Solidarity with the Windrush generation'' at Parliament Square in London.

The Windrush scandal came to light when the Guardian newspaper reported that some people who came to the UK from the Caribbean in the decades after World War II had recently been refused medical care in Britain or threatened with deportation.

The scandal has prompted the resignation of the Home Secretary Amber Rudd.
