Nutty professor builds crazy leaf blower ride for his children
A self-styled ‘Nutty Professor’ dad from Australia built a crazy ride for his children recently, powered entirely by leaf blowers.
Inspired by using a leaf blower to push his son Samuel, 9, on a swing, Jacob Strickling used an old Batmobile car, some wood scraps, screws, two leaf blowers and rope to build the ride
Samuel was first to test the invention but the car was propelled surprisingly fast by the powerful blowers and, as it went higher, it collided with a tree, knocking off one of the blowers.
Samuel, correctly, declared the ride to be ‘too dangerous’ and went back in the house.
Not content with having nearly taken out his son, Strickling then persuaded his daughter Mikalah, 11, to try the leaf-blower-propelled Batmobile. After several collisions, she too decided she'd seen enough and walked away.
"All's well that end's well," declared Strickling, "although the neighbours kids won't be allowed to use this particular ride!"
Although this invention does appear a little dangerous, Stricking is, in fact, a qualified science teacher who has tonnes of experience in inventing new toys and rides for his children.
