A woman was caught on dashcam lunging in front of a car in an epic insurance scam fail.

In the video, a woman is seen throwing herself at the front of a stopped car in Kowloon, Hong Kong, on March 9, 2018.

The driver said he stopped at the crosswalk when he saw a woman dragging her suitcase on the road.

He beeped his horn as she ran towards his vehicle and hurled herself at the front of the car before collapsing onto the road.

The driver said the woman suffered no injuries and suggested her fall was an attempted insurance scam.

Police were called but no further action was taken after officers reviewed the car's dashcam footage.

Bizarre footage of an elderly woman throwing herself at a stopped car in an apparent insurance scam in Kowloon, Hong Kong.

The driver said he stopped at the zebra crossing when he saw the woman dragging her suitcase across the road.

He beeped the horn as she ran over to his vehicle and hurled herself onto the bonnet before collapsing onto the road on March 9 at 7.19am.

The driver said there were no injuries to the woman and suggested the fall was an attempt at a road insurance scam.
