Floods in Thessaloniki, Greece's second-largest city, caused chaos on May 10 as streets turned into gushing rivers.

Video shows what appears to be a large bottle bank being swept down a street and crashing into cars.

Debris can also be seen on roads and huge lines of stationary traffic jam the streets.

Writes the filmer: Thessaloniki city centre was damaged due to heavy rain and flooding. The city of 1.5 million citizens faced a massive storm on Thursday noon resulting in floods, power blackouts, water service interruptions, traffic accidents.

"The fire brigade received hundreds of calls for rescue, pumping waters from shops, hotels and houses."
