The Eastern Great Egret (Ardea alba modesta) is widespread throughout Asia and Oceania. This non-breeding adult was stalking small fish in the shallows of Peel Inlet, south of Perth in Western Australia on a completely still day with perfect reflections. This Egret had just swallowed a goby (a small fish), fluffed its neck, shook its head and then walked off.
