A retired soldier caught a two-year-old boy who had fallen from the fourth-floor of a residential building.

Video filmed in Weifang City in Shandong Province on May 14 shows a two-year-old boy trying to balance on the fourth-floor ledge of an apartment.

In another clip, a man named Liu Yangming is seen moments after catching the boy by his ankle after he had fallen from the fourth-floor.

The boy is seen swinging before the hero ex-soldier is able to drag him - upside down - to safety, passing him to his father in the apartment.

Incredibly, this apartment did not belong to Liu but another neighbour. According to reports, he had heard a commotion outside his own apartment and ran to help with his father.

After he saw the boy hanging on the external unit, he knocked on each flat and luckily the first-floor flat seen here opened.
