Teen surprises prom date by walking by herself for the first time
Texas teenager Morgan Coultress feared she’d never walk again.
Injured 10 months ago in a bicycle accident, the high-school student was left unable to walk after damaging nerves in her spine.
Then, last month, Coultress tentatively took some steps - to surprise her boyfriend Tarik Garcia, who had come to pick her up for prom at San Antonio High School.
Seeing her walk towards him on prom night, Garcia is overcome with emotion.
After spending time in hospital, Coultress began to learn to walk again - but only with the aid of Garcia.
“Recently I managed to walk for four minutes by myself but I kept it a secret from Tarik because me and my mum planned a surprise for prom.
"Walking was so scary and so amazing at the same time."
The video was filmed by Coutress's mother on April 28.
