Buy video

Footage showing a Avocet chick falling over after coming out from under parents wings.

This Avocet family has managed to hatch three chicks about two days ago.

The parents do there best to keep their new hatchlings warm and safe by brooding them under there wings every 10 minutes, then letting them out for a while in the shallow water to feed.

Mum and dad have also to keep an eye on the hundreds of gulls nesting nearby that will snatch a young chick given half a chance.
