A photographer and weather watcher in Northern Ireland captured this spectacular sunset earlier in the week.

Writes Martin McKenna: "After a day of grey skies and rain, the sky lit up for at sunset with a prolonged afterglow, which was an all-sky event drawing the attention of many."

The time-lapse video was filmed in Magherafelt on Monday (May 21).
