Angry bird aggressively chases young baboon

Buy video

While watching a troop of baboons relaxing near a water hole, we noticed one young baboon that started walking straight towards two birds that was lying on a rock. These birds are called water thick-knees and they are always found in the vicinity of water in the form of rivers or watering holes in the Kruger Park, South Africa. They are ground nesting birds and aggressively attacks literally anything that moves to close to them or their nests. This young baboon was clearly inexperienced and quickly learned that these birds are not to be messed with and to always keep a good distance away from them. The one bird saw the baboon as a threat. It suddenly gets up and charges the young baboon with its wings fanned out to make it look more scary and intimidating. The young baboon quickly realizes he needs to get away quickly and runs off for a few metres with the angry bird after him. Never have we imagined to witness a baboon running away from a bird while getting chased. This made it a very entertaining and amusing wildlife sighting and definitely one to remember
